It should be noted that the challenges inherent in criminal trials are dramatically different from their civil conterparts.  Thus, in securing victory before a jury when the client is facing criminal charges brings the stigma of harsh accusations and often biased jury pools that favor law enforcement and well-intentioned prosecutors (making the job of trial counsel work much harder in a variety of ways prior to the civil aftermath that follows).  Therefore, no matter how “clear” the violation, the client must have their case assessed by an experienced litigator so as to get an accurate evaluation of the anticipated hurdles and rewards in the civil case once the criminal case is concluded.
